Verdigris is a gorgeous duck egg blue, filled with periwinkle, mint, and turquoise glitters. I'm wearing two coats here without top coat. I just love the blues and greens in this one!

Nail Juice - Ice Cream ChocChip Series

Nail Juice's Banana ChocChip is a glorious glossy yellow crelly filled with tiny 'chocolate' flakes. Look at that shine! I'm wearing two coats without top coat here.

Berry ChocChip is a beautiful deep pink sprinkled with tiny black flakes. This is two coats here without top coat.

 Bubblegum ChocChip - my absolute favourite of the bunch. A sweet pink crelly with little flecks of 'chocolate'. This is two coats here without topcoat.

Mint ChocChip - Ok maybe this one is my favourite too?! Mint ChocChip has been my favourite flavour of ice cream of all time. If only this was peppermint scented! Two coats here without top coat.

Revlon Gel Envy - Dealer's Choice

I have fallen hard for Revlon's Gel Envy line. My little nails have been struggling for quite some time to grow back some length. I decided to give these polishes a go and BY GOLLY I am in love.

Dealer's Choice is one of the few Gel Envys that actually have visible shimmer. Most actually do but it's that secret shimmer that you can't really see unless the sun is blasting it's rays directly at your nails. And even then do you barely get to see the shy shimmers.

The formula is really quite nice. I love the thick opaque formulas, it gets the job done quick stick. This is two coats shown here.

Mangled to Magnificent pt.3: Nail Juice Bird Song

 Welcome to part 3 of Mangled to Magnificent. I am absolutely loving the nail growth that's happening, although what comes with length is breakages lol. My job is pretty tough on these little guys, but they seem to be best when they have polish on protecting them.

Nail Juice Peacocks, Peacocks Everywhere!

Peacocks was inspired by the sheer amount of peacock references in my science/natural selection/evolution books. It drove me batty! Anyhow, this beauty is a beautiful light teal crelly, filled with purple, green and gold glitters. Shown here at two coats.

OPI Don't Talk Bach To Me!

 Alright! I've got OPI's Don't Talk Bach To Me! to show you! One of my all-time favourites. I had lost this one for a little while, my sister found them in the car and returned them to me with a disappointed face lol. Bach is from OPI's Germany collection last year. I think I have only one other, My First Knockwurst, from the collection.

This is two thin coats worn here. I just love it! Such a bizarre colour. I love wearing Bach with navy and black clothing.

Color Club Halo Hues: Kismet

Kismet is one of the latest colours from Color Club's Halo Hues collection! Usually I am not a huge fan of holo greens, but Kismet was actually my favourite out of the three!

The formula is very nice, it has that nice thin but opaque quality to it. I am wearing two coats here.

At the moment you can buy the first lot of Halo Hues from USA Nails Online (new zealand) for $19.90 each. The second lot, which Kismet is a part of, will be released on April 1st.

Color Club Steel of The Night

Long time, no see! How are you doing? I have been swamped with uni work this year. Not sure if I am excited or scared for next year... 

Today I have Color Club's Steel of the Night to show you!

As you can see, Steel is a magnetic polish. I've been painting a lot of my friends' nails at the moment and they just go nuts over the magnetics! I think they're the most used polishes from my stash at the moment. I adore nail art and this is such an easy way to do it.

To get this effect I applied a reasonably thick coat (just one) and immediately held the magnet over my nail for around 15 seconds. The formula is nice too, not thin or goopy.

I was really surprised that you only needed one coat. As always, I was a little bit skeptical over how it would work but it's just so easy.

Misa Precious Moments Spring Collection 2012

Precious Moments was love at first sight.

Bed Of Roses

What a happy looking nail polish! Bed of Roses reminds me of lip gloss or popsicles, so summery and juicy looking! The first swatch is with two coats and the second having three coats. 

 Sweet Thing

I cannot tell you how long I have been searching for a pale lavender or mauve nail polish. I've been through Essie's Lilacism and Nice is Nice, but they both missed the mark. Sweet Thing is everything I have been after.

 Little Hands

My camera decided that it wouldn't photograph Little Hands in all her glory. It most definitely isn't this chalky looking. It's like... a slightly neon hybrid cross of Essie Mint Candy Apple and China Glaze For Audrey. The bottom photo is what it looks like, but in the sun... If you get what I mean... Little Hands is not a colour to be ignored.

Someone Like You

I always have a soft spot for nudes. Someone Like You is a red toned nude and is very flattering on different skin tones. It reminds me of OPI's Miso Happy and Let Them Eat Rice Cake. Very subtle, chic and work appropriate.

Pinky Promise
It's really hard to choose a favourite from this collection but I think Pinky Promise may be it. I just love milky pinks. I have a comparison between Pinky Promise and Essie's Neo Whimsical that I will be posting shortly.

Note: There was another polish in this collection called Deep Breath that I didn't get. Deep Breath looks to be a light neutral grey creme.

Precious Moments - Overall Thoughts

Formula: this collection was great. They all have that nice thickness, not too thin but not too gluggy either. The polishes give a lot of coverage in minimal coats. The only one that needed more than two was Bed Of Roses, but you can keep layering on the coats til the cows come home with that one. I really had forgotten how lovely Misa polishes are.

Colours: Precious Moments definitely sings Spring but I love the unusual choices of Little Hands and Bed Of Roses. They stop the collection from just being a Spring pastel palette. Which wouldn't even be that bad because I am over the moon with them all anyway. My Mum and Sister have all tried these on too and (they are lighter and darker, redder than me) the colours looked just as pretty and feminine on them.

Essie Mint Candy Apple

Mint Candy Apple is a part of Essie's main line after being released for the holidays a few years ago.

The formula is ok, a little on the streaky side and needs 3 coats to even out.

It is much greener and slightly chalkier than China Glaze For Audrey.

Comparison: Trendsetter vs. Uh-Oh Roll Down The Window

 

I know it's a bit of a stretch to compare these two, but I feel like I need to get rid of one of them. 


Uh-Oh Roll Down the Window is from OPI's latest fall collection, Touring America (2011). Trendsetter is also from China Glaze's latest fall collection, Metro (2011). So both are fairly easy to come across.

Formula wise the OPI is quite watery and at the other end of the scale is thick-goopy Trendsetter. I have added thinner to it before but the next time I went to use Trend, it was just as thick as before.

I appreciate Trend's different-ness and Uh-Oh to me is a collection staple. Although it isn't as bold as Trend, it certainly looks nice, clean, subtle and will match a lot of outfits.

I just don't know what to do! What would you do? Are you in the same position but with other colours?
