OPI Venice Fall Winter 2015 - Purple Palazzo Pants

Purple Palazzo Pants is from OPI's Venice collection released for Fall/Winter 2015. This is one of those tricky shades that are right in between colours, Palazzo being right on the cusp of purple and pink. This means that depending on the undertones in your skin colour, Palazzo will either lean more pink or more purple. With my yellow undertones it shows its more purple side. I adore these pink/purple/mauve shades and am finding myself forever crafting them when mixing polishes. The formula is just fabulous and only needs two thin coats for full coverage.

OPI Venice Fall Winter 2015 - O Suzi Mio

O Suzi Mio is from OPI's most recent collection inspired by Venice. This shade is a glorious deep purple totally opaque in two thin coats. The formula was perfection. It is dark enough to look 'just dark' in certain lights, but is fairly obviously purple in the daylight. Dark purples are an all time favourite of mine, so it's an instant hit with me.

Nail Art - Neon Spike

The Look:
This look starts of with two coats of Haze to create our neon purple base colour. Then, with my dotting tool I place small amounts of base coat around the base of each nail. I picked up the spikes with my dotting tool and placed them in a formation on three on each nail. I then sealed the design with my top coat.

Nail Art - Purple and Gold

The Look:
I was inspired to create a look that used glitter to create the pattern rather than nail polish. I found that I liked using glitter in this way as the shapes are more consistent than if you were to use nail polish with a dotting tool.

To start with I used two coats of High Roller as my base colour. At the base of the nail I put four golden glitters beside one another, using my dotting tool, to create a single tessellation. For the accent nail I repeated this design. I dabbed my dotting tool in a tiny bit of base coat to help with picking up the glitters. I then sealed my nail design with a coat of Out the Door top coat. I used two coats of top coat over the accent nail as the glitter is bumpy.

Nail Juice - Haze

Haze is one of Nail Juice's latest shades - a bright pastel purple flecked with golden shimmer. I'm wearing two coats here.

Revlon Gel Envy - Showtime

Showtime! Wow! Look at this beauty glow! Definitely the sparkliest in the Gel Envy line.

This is just one coat of Showtime over High Roller. Showtime can take a few coats to build up colour on it's own.

Purple, pink, navy, red, gold... *drool*

Even glorious in the shade.

Revlon Gel Envy - High Roller

High Roller was one of my first Gel Envys, and I am so glad because I have worn this shade for weeks on end. I adore it!

Super smooth formula, again with hidden blue shimmer which shines in direct sunlight.

The bottle shows quite a strong blue flash - which I was a bit iffy about, but swatches online reassured me that it did look like a creme finish.

This colour looks quite black in most lighting situations, but compared to black, High Roller is that little bit softer.

Orly Baked Summer 2014: Saturated

Today I have Orly's Saturated to show you! I absolutely adore this polish. A deep purple that ACTUALLY LOOKS PURPLE ON! Not black, not indigo, not blue! Purple! And the formula is lovely too. You can almost get full opacity with one coat. I bet it works well for stamping!

Orly Baked Summer 2014: Hot Tropics

Today I have Orly's Hot Tropics for your viewing pleasure! A beautifully bright pinky-purple filled with green and golden shimmer. This is two coats I'm wearing here. The formula was really spectacular. It had the right thickness, flowed really nicely, and wasn't a 'leaker' (one that flows into your cuticles).

Mangled to Magnificent pt.2: Funky Fingers Partly Cloudy

 My first thermal polish! I was incredibly excited to try it. At first I didn't think it worked as I was driving around at work in the sunlight and it still looked turquoise. It was only today when I went out to take a quick snap - that I saw it begin to change!

On the nail growth side of things, it's quite amazing how quickly my nails can grow when they aren't being bitten off several times a day. I'm incredibly happy with how the growth is coming along. See you next week for pt. 3's progress!

Mangled to Magnificent pt.1: Etude Play

Ok! I'm tired of my short nails! They've been this length longer than they should have been. This new series, Mangled to Magnificent, is going to be my personal nail journey from their current state all the way in to a new glorious long and strong state.

My goal is not to have picture perfect nails, but for them to be in a state in which I am proud of. Because of that, I'm not worried about painting the polish on perfectly, having perfect clean up, having them perfectly straight. The aim of the game is to be supportive and nurturing.
