Once in a Chartreuse Moon...I need your help!

Lame title I know, but I need your help! I've had this idea in my head for such a long time, chartreuse moons.

I've had a play around this morning and picked out what I think looks best. Think of this design as a prototype ok! Not the final product. It was about 4 degrees this morning and my fingers have been frozen all day.

From left to right:
OPI Dating a Royal, OPI Sapphire in the Snow, Skull and Glossbones, Essie Big Spender.

I love the two middle ones, Sapphire and Skull. What about the Skull one reversed? I think that could look quite cool?

Any opinions, please, let me hear them!

The 'Splatter' Manicure

This is definitely an experience and a half! I had my boyfriend's saliva flying all over my fingers, nail polish flinging on to my hands/arms/legs/anywherebutmynails! After all of that, all I can say is thank goodness for Color Club's Cuticle Oil!

I do apologise for the mess. When I had just finished cleaning up my nails, this looked like perfection to what was once there. Now that I look back I see I missed a few spots.

I saw Jen's post recently explaining how to do it. I thought it sounded simple enough. Jen uses tape to do hers but silly me started this manicure, then realised that all of my tape is at Uni. I dug through my nail draw to see what I could use, I found that Liquid Palisade stuff, but the brush is too small to cover such a large area. So I kept searching and found Color Club's Cuticle Soothe in the treatments section. Worked a treat! The polish just slid right off!

After about five minutes of spit flying everywhere and no nail polish splattering, we decided to modify the straw a little bit. Turns out a thinner exit works so much better! We just bent the straw in half at the bottom and yay it finally started working!

I really like how it turned out. I was thinking of using Skulls & Glossbones as the base colour for this but I quite like it how it is. Be prepared to see many more of these!

Today I used: China Glaze For Audrey as the base colour, Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau (light blue), LA Disco in Vinyl Record (bright blue) and OPI's Mermaid Tears (pale green).

Next time I want to use: OPI Who The Shrek Are You?, Essie Big Spender, Australis Blue Tiger and Color Club Almost Famous.

OPI Shatter Collection & Nail Apps

The Shatter collection is now officially released in New Zealand. Look at that barren display. I almost bought the navy blue hiding in the back. But then I reminded myself, these are a lot cheaper on TradeMe.

But then... I saw these!

Look at these! I haven't seen or heard anything about them! How cool do they look? Of course all of the exciting ones are gone or were never in stock. But I did find one design I loved...

This was the design I desperately wanted to try out. I mean how cool would it be to have it look like you've got blood splattered on your fingertips?

Check out that price! I was standing there staring in disbelief. Surely the $31.00 price tag is wrong. They all have them! Ok maybe they last quite a while. I check the bottom of the packet, 1-2 days wear. Ok. WHAT?! Are they for real?! $31.00 for one to two days wear.

Who are the ones on crack here? OPI or Smith & Caugheys? There are just so many things wrong with the price. I really, really want to try them but only if they dropped the cost by about, oh I don't know, half!

Has anyone tried these?

Twitter!

This is just to let you know that I have signed up to Twitter! That's not to say I know what the heck I am doing, but I'm there!

There's a little Twitter tab on the left hand side of the screen and you can just click it to see what I'm upto or what I've spotted recently.

I, no doubt will be using it over the Beauty Expo weekend, the 2nd and 3rd of July.

To finish this post off, lets have a little bit of blue spam for Twitter!

Color Club Gimme a Grape Big Kiss

Gimme a Grape Big Kiss was my favourite out of the three I got to try. It smelled delicious and my boyfriend really liked it too. We thought it smelt like the grape Hubba Bubba bubblegum crossed with the purple Nerds lollies. Nerds are one of my favourite kinds of lollies so I don't mind carrying that smell around with me all day!

Gimme is a super shiny polish. I just loved it. It's so glossy! I kind of want a lipstick this colour. And maybe some shoes this colour.

Depending on your monitor it may look more pink or more purple. On my one a home it looks almost the exact same shade as it is in real life but at my parents, it looks much more pink. So just remember that Gimme is definitely a purple, a fuchsia-purple but most definitely a purple.

Just a reminder that it is my last week for the semester next week so Nail Juice will probably be a little bit quiet, but I have some really exciting shades to show you after I put my A into G and finish my projects! Also mum is heading over to Australia soon, so hello Illamasqua and Make Up Store!

Color Club Wicked Sweet

I thought I'd start this collection off with it's name sake, Wicked Sweet! I also have Gimme a Grape Big Kiss and Raspberry Rush to show you later.

Wicked Sweet really stumped me on what the scent was. My boyfriend and I thought it was a bit blueberry-ish but didn't have a strong enough smell to say for sure that it is blueberry. So we hunted around for what other bloggers thought and they said blueberry or blue raspberry.

Formula wise, it's great. Just the same as Pure Energy, nice thickness and smoothness to it.

But, hello! We've seen you before haven't we? Above is my beloved Pure Energy, the non-scented version of Wicked Sweet

With the scent of Wicked Sweet I swear I could taste it when I was just nibbling on my fingertip but then realised it was the finger with Pure Energy on, lol. I don't know what I was tasting...

OPI Catch Me In Your Net

I've been wanting to get better photos of Catch Me In Your Net for a long time now. But she's just one of those shades when you look at what to swatch next and cringe. Well, I finally decided to wear it, I think this is like, the 2nd ever time I have. What does that say? Love the colour but don't want to put the work in to it that it needs.

You will have a hard time removing.

But Catch looks great in all different lighting situations!

Original review here.

OPI Silver Shatter

Today we have OPI's Silver Shatter from their Pirate's Of The Caribbean collection. To be honest, I love it so much more than the black. Not too sure why, just do. I'm also really excited to try out their Navy shatter!

I don't think I've quite got the right application of it going on in these photos. When I wore it the other day over Blue Tiger, it was quite thick with minimal but large cracks. I quite liked it and it was quite a mission to remove, especially when  you've run out of cotton pads!

I will try to get some more posts up this week but just letting you know that this week and last week are my final weeks for the semester and i've got about 4325 things to do...

Have a great day :)

Essie Borrowed & Blue

Here we have Borrowed and Blue from Essie's wedding collection this year. First of all, I'm sure just the name would make it a huge hit. Can you imagine all the brides with their baby blue toenails? Or fingertips if they are daring! I think it's quite nice really, but I don't quite understand how it's borrowed? Unless you are borrowing the shade from someone, you paid for it, you own it.

As much as I love baby blues, this one left me wanting more. Perhaps it isn't as creamy as I thought it was. It is a very chalky pastely blue.

It's quite close to Color Club's Take Me To Your Chateau and Blue Light, but it definitely has that starkness to it that those two don't.

OPI Skull & Glossbones

Quite possibly my new favourite polish. Or... coming a close second behind Who The Shrek Are You. This is Skull and Glossbones from OPI's Pirate's of the Caribbean collection.

I'm not all too sure on what to call this colour. It's a bit grey, it's a bit beige, even a nude! Maybe? Not 100% sure what it is, but I like it. I did need three coats but I think like Mermaids Tears and Steady As She Rose, I applied the coats too thinly which started to pull off colour from undernieth. They are pastels and they are a little bit chalky.

I'm seriously thinking Skulls is back-up material.

Color Club Untamed Luxury Indulgence Round-Up

A round-up of all the reviews and photos! Each name of the polish will take you to it's review :)

Couldn't that just be your whole winter/autumn nail wardrobe, right there?

Color Club Wild Orchid

To finish off the Untamed Luxury collection, here is Wild Orchid. A round-up post will be made to have all the reviews and photos in one post very shortly. :)

Wild Orchid was a lot of peoples favourite. It's a pretty mid-grey with a slight glitter. The glitter isn't too overpowering though for those who don't like too much bling.

Great formula, consistant within the collection. :)
