OPI Catch Me In Your Net
I've been wanting to get better photos of Catch Me In Your Net for a long time now. But she's just one of those shades when you look at what to swatch next and cringe. Well, I finally decided to wear it, I think this is like, the 2nd ever time I have. What does that say? Love the colour but don't want to put the work in to it that it needs.
You will have a hard time removing.
But Catch looks great in all different lighting situations!

OPI Who The Shrek Are You?
I have had my eye on this one for such a long time! Very happy that I have finally got a bottle to call my own.
I had looked up so many pictures of WTSAY and loved them all. They were all different shades and greens so it was a little bit of a mystery as to what I would actually end up with.
I have 3 coats on here as it was a little bit streaky. I may try it next time with a thicker base or maybe even a ridge filler.
I absolutely adore the colour though. I am on a lime/chartreuse/lavender kick at the moment and have a shirt this almost exact colour.

I think this last picture is the most colour accurate. I was afraid that Shrek was going to be your typical apple-green-lime-green but it does actually have quite a bit of yellow in it. A dirty yellow though, almost mustard-y I think. I just love it.
I was also interested in OPI's Fiercly Fiona as I am wanting that true chartreuse colour. But I saw a comparison of Fiona with China Glaze's Electric Pineapple. EP looked like much more my cup of tea so I think I will wait for that :)

A Quick Look At: Oh Naturale & Turn The Other Chic
Hi guys! I finally bought myself a rechargeable battery charger, so now I don't have to wait to travel back to my parents house for batteries :D
For now I am showing you photos of Color Club's Oh Naturale and Turn The Other Chic. These will be released in NZ fairly soon I would think. They are a part of the Pardon My French collection. A beautiful array of soft sheers and matching glitters.
The reason they aren't on my fingers is because I recently worked in a pack house for 5 days (50 hours all up) and as you can imagine, the poor little fingernails got a bit of a beating. Hopefully they come right soon :)
Here is Oh Naturale:
A very soft salmon.
And here is Turn The Other Chic:
A juicy looking colour! Looks best over others rather than being by itself.

OPI Catch Me In Your Net
Mum and I were flabbergasted when we saw the summer OPI display with this colour on it. I really wasn't expecting to get it in New Zealand. A very nice surprise!
Catch Me In Your Net is a beautiful shade. I am so happy to have this in my collection. I have nothing like it! Although a few companys have released something very similar, this is the first to hit NZ.
I thought it was going to be a sheer shade but you really only need two, maximum 3 coats for this one.
I really like Catch Me In Your Net because it's just one of those fascinating polishes that change all day long, you know? It has a really different look in every light. It's so pretty.
I just love to look at this one in the bottle too. I wish I had some shoes this colour... how cool would that be
?!
?!
None of the other colours really caught my attention in the Summer collection. It seems a lot of sparkly polishes are coming out recently, I like it!

Color Club Twiggie
A
At first when I saw that Twiggie was described as a mint green I thought it was a little odd to have a pastel in a neon collection. Surprisingly once applied it's sort of a pastel-neon if that makes any sense.
Twiggie definitely isn't as bright as those lovely green highlighters from high school but also isn't quite as pale as MAC's Peppermint Patti. I think it would actually be closer to Orly's Mint Mojito.
Twiggie gives good coverage, only two coats needed. This polish is a cream finish so you don't need a ridge filler to bring out the neon some more or to even it out as the formula is a little thick.
Although it is a slightly thick formula it is quite streaky on coat number one. Even using a ridge filler I still got streaks.

Color Club Warhol
Now this is a neon pink I can wear!
I loved wearing this one, love at first sight, even if it was only on one nail. A squishy jelly finish with only two coats necessary. I just had fun wearing Warhol, brightened up my day every time I caught a glimpse of it.
I can see Warhol being a popular choice for nails in Spring and Summer. Wouldn't it look so cute on your toes with your pretty sandals or jandals?
Once again my poor camera has let me down, Warhol has a little more of a redness to it, more fuchsia looking. It's kind of like OPI's Fuchsia Fling and Zoya's Morgan but with a punch!

Color Club Poptastic
Poptastic was actually my least favourite. I don't know what it is about neon pinks that I just can't bring myself to love them. Maybe because of the overuse of the pink highlighters in my school years?
Aside from that, Poptastic applies really easily and dries fairly quickly.
It does dry slightly matte so make sure you wear a top coat with Pop.
Not too much to say about Poptastic, a lot of other brands have made their own neon pinks so it's not too much of a unique colour. Poptastic isn't a bad polish, just not my fave :)

Color Club Chelsea Girl
Chelsea Girl is quite scary at first. By that I mean on your first coat it's almost like you're applying water! But then somehow coat number two seems to make it all better. But then in saying that, you do get a cool jelly look going on.
Chelsea Girl reminds me of the water slides we make down the hill at my parents house...
My photos make this polish look a little lighter than it really is. I'd say it has a tad more navy in it, and of course it looks more squishy in real life. Dumb camera.

Color Club Wham! Pow!
Wham! Pow! is right! Jeepers!
I think I will have a lot of fun wearing this shade over the next few warmer months. It's just such a cool colour, isn't it? It's like you melted down a road cone and painted your nails with it. Love it.
Because Wham Pow is so amazingly bright, my camera couldn't quite capture it properly. But just think highlighters and road cones. It's not quite as 'juicy' looking as it is in my photos.
You only need two coats I think. You do get a bit of a jellyish thing going on here though with Wham Pow. So perhaps add a white polish or white/nude based ridge filler if you aren't a fan of that.

Color Club Almost Famous
Looks timid in the bottle compared to some of the others, but once on the nail... You've got yourself a beautiful buttery yellow.
The first time I tried Almost Famous, I wasn't too fond of it because it seemed like it was going to take a never ending amount of coats to get it looking nice... But this morning when I was taking my time swatching, it applied so much nicer. I only needed two coats for complete coverage.
Definitely don't rush this one along, otherwise you'll get nowhere.
Usually I don't really go for yellows because they're usually a pain to apply and make my hands look red, but I think I could break this one out a few times during Spring :)
Almost Famous is definitely not a pastel or a neon, but it is certainly not for the shy! I wonder what my Nana would think the next time I showed up to do her nails with Almost Famous?

Color Club Pucci-licious
I was most excited to try Pucci out of the set. It is quite a unique colour even though it seems like a basic one. It does remind me of a purple BYS polish I had sometime ago though and never wore it because it smelt awful... So Pucci makes a good replacement :D
The colour shown in my photo here I feel is definitely not purple enough, well warm enough. I was using my sisters camera for this shot so when I get back I'll give my camera a go :)
Pucci-licious was a bit streaky on the first coat but I don't think that you need a ridge filler to help because it is a slightly thicker formula, so it evens itself out on coat number 2. I reckon you only need 2 coats to get full coverage.
Pucci-licious is a cream like Twiggie and Almost Famous, so you don't get that squishy jelly look like the others.

Nails for Spring 2010

I thought I would create this post for the lovely Northern Hemisphere'ers!
So spring colours are all about the soft and the delicate. So pastels are a good choice along with sheers and nudes. I love to wear lavenders, mints, duck egg blues and baby pinks.
Spring has to be one of my favourite colours schemes so there is a lot of photos for you :) Enjoy!

MAC Spring Forecast 2010

Mum and I were super excited to read about this collection! We kept updating lists of what we wanted to get from it for goodness knows how long! So far I have gotten: one of the Ombre blushes- Azalea Blossom, a few lippies called Pink Burst, Victorian and Bubblegum. I have worn the blush just about everyday since receiving it. I really love the colour, a soft pastel pink with lilac undertones.

- Victorian was quite... un-wearable for some reason. A very bright coral/pink a with golden sheen. It just doesn't seem to sit nicely or apply nicely on my lips.

- Pink Burst is quite a bold fuchsia, very shimmery as well. I am not too sure how often I will wear that one.
- Bubblegum is my absolute favourite. I have never come across a lipstick quite like it! It is a lilac toned pink. It is also quite shimmery. I keep wearing this every time I put my make-up on :) I also like how it leaves a pink stain on my lips after I have eaten. (Pics to come soon!)
This collection will be released in New Zealand in a couple of weeks.
