OPI Gotta Get Pink!

Another US exclusive! Only found in Ulta's around Valentines this year.

I love Gotta Get Pink, this is my kind of nude.

It is a really nice formula, nothing wrong with it at all. I really hope you girls were able to find a bottle :) If not, OPI Let Them Eat Rice Cake is really quite close, just a bit more nude toned. Not much more nude toned though!

OPI Fuchsia Fling

I think Fuchsia Fling and Zoya Morgan could be sisters. They are quite similar in colourings.

Fuchsia Fling was a US exclusive this year, from the Blooming collection.

Two coats = perfect. My nails look like glass.

OPI DS Divine

One of my favourite holographics, Divine.

Perfect in every way. Divine has no flaws.

Theres no doubt about it, Divine is Divine. WHY DID YOU DISCONTINUE IT OPI?! WHY!?!?! Seriously, those new speckled more glitter than holo Designer Series are crap. When I want to wear a holo, I want to wear a holo thats not half-assing the job. I want something that distracts me from what I am suppose to be doing.

Color Club Tangerine Scream

Tangerine Scream is from Color Club's Electro Candy collection released a little while ago this year.

It is a BRIGHT orange with green shimmer.

I wouldn't really call it neon... Sure it's bright but it's not like retina burning bright.

It was really easy to use, nice smooth formula. Can Color Club do wrong? I haven't found a crappy formula yet :D

Essie Flirty Fuchsia

Woowee Flirty Fuchsia sure is bright! I would call this one a neon for sure :D!

Mum keeps asking me to try it on. I think she likes it hehe. She has worn Electro Candy (neon pink with shimmer) quite a bit to work though and really loves that one.

This is two coats here. It dries pretty quickly because as soon as I finished the last coat I ran outside with my camera and it was already matte-ifying :(

It is a nice formula to use.

CND Blue Blood

Can navy blue get any hotter?

No, I don't think it can.

To be honest I was really surprised that this was being sold at the Beauty Expo. I thought it was long discontinued! Maybe not in NZ?

This is just two coats here. Perfection in two coats. I was in love at first try. Blue Blood is so smooth and not thick at all. Just the way you want polishes to be.

I'm thinking I need to get a back-up of this baby! I want to wear it all the time but I don't because I fear of using it all up u_u

Frankens!

I made these last night during an All Blacks game. Dad was yelling and screaming at the TV so I thought I would make up a few shades.

I've been wanting to make a minty green for a long time now but just haven't had the resources.

I was lusting after the Chanel, Jade. So I tried to make it similar. Who knows if I even remotely close! It involved OPI Hey Get In Lime, OPI Sea Ya Later Sailor, a random dollar store pale green and Bloom Alessandra.

The second franken was really just a mix of everything, I wasn't really aiming for anything :D A mix of that and a mix of this!

The third one I love. The shimmer is just incredible.

Tell me what you think of them!

Names I picked from your lovely suggestions:
1 - Nice to Mint You!
2 - Dark Side Of The Moon
3 - Royal Tease

Thanks so much for the great input n_nb

General Nail Care : Base Coats, Moisture and Breakages!

As requested, here is a post on general nail care! Lets start off with a base coat. The most essential in my opinion. I simply would not have nails without it!

BASE COATS
Currently I am using QTICA Natural Nail Growth Stimulator, but seeing as it peels off quite easily with me I use Zoya's Anchor Base Coat on top.

This helps it stay on for a long time. Also the QTICA is really thin and doesn't cover up all my lumps, bumps and peelies I have at the moment so the Zoya really helps even that out to a nice smooth and shiny surface.
The two work so well together. Long, strong nails so quickly and easily.

I think the trick to finding out what base coat works for you is simply just to try a whole heap for about a month and see how it goes for you. If not, you can always gift the base coats to a friend or maybe use it in a franken.

MOISTURE

If you find you have peely nails or nails that just keep on breaking, make sure you are keeping your nails moisturised. Your nails produce their own oils but these can be removed with cleaning agents, washing your hands a lot and of course, using remover. So any chance that they are naked, just give them a good dousing of oil.

Any kind will do but a lovely home recipe that my mum makes up is 30mls of almond oil, 30mls of jojoba oil and 30mls of rice bran oil works a real treat.
Removers are quite drying to your nails but your nails should reproduce the oils you took away in 24hours.

But if you do a lot of mani changes you may want to chuck a bit of oil on them to help them rehydrate quicker.
Also having your tips polished most of the time will help protect them.

A COUPLE OF RULES

Buffing. I would do this once every few weeks at the most. But this is only because my nails with the state that they're in really need evening out. You don't want to buff too often though because this takes off layers of your nails.

Trust me, you just need to see my nails in person too see what the damage looks like.

Another important rule is to not use your nails as tools. I know it seems like the easiest way of opening up that can but you can use the side of your finger or a utensil like a knife or fork to aid you.

BREAKAGES

Has your tip started peeling off at the side? A quick fix is some nail glue and a small square of either a tea bag, toilet paper, tissue... almost anything that's thin really.

Make sure your nail is clean of oils and cut a bit of the material you have chosen to fit over the breakage and a little more for support. Add a little glue to the broken area, carefully place your material (not too close to the tip though! otherwise it will start to peel off), then put the glue on top of the material. The material should turn transparent to some degree.

Of course the best thing would be to buy a silk wraps kit for these kind of emergencies and it will work much better and last a lot longer!

I hope this helps you in some way :)

Zoya Hot Lips : Sparkle

Sparkle is great for when you aren't wanting to add any colour at all to your lips but still want them to gloss and sparkle.

Sparkle has a couple of counterparts that look scarily similar. Limo and Snowsicle.

Limo has a slight cream tinge to it and Snowsicle may as well just be gloss, you can't see its sparkles. So if you want a gloss that sparkles, Sparkle is for you n_n

OPI Lilac I Care

Here's one that's been sitting around in the 'needs to be posted' pile for a long time, OPI's Lilac I Care.

It is one of the older Yokohamas but Transdesign has the Nicole By OPI reincarnation for sale :)

Three coats here, it is quite a thin formula like with most older OPIs.

Zoya Hot Lips : Trendy

My absolute favourite of the Hot Lips range. Trendy. I always seem to reach for Trendy when I am not wanting a strong colour on my lips like my lippies give me.

It goes on so smoothly and lasts for ages.

Trendy is like a more peachy version of Shimmer really. Same finish and sparkle as each other.

I would say Trendy is the warmer version of Shimmer.

I want to try Luvie next! n_n

~Spring~

Hello! Hope you were nice to your Father today n_n ♥

Today was a really really nice day and felt like the winter chills were finally disappearing. So I grabbed my camera and went for a walk around the paddock with the cats!
