Color Club Halo Hues: Kismet

Kismet is one of the latest colours from Color Club's Halo Hues collection! Usually I am not a huge fan of holo greens, but Kismet was actually my favourite out of the three!

The formula is very nice, it has that nice thin but opaque quality to it. I am wearing two coats here.

At the moment you can buy the first lot of Halo Hues from USA Nails Online (new zealand) for $19.90 each. The second lot, which Kismet is a part of, will be released on April 1st.

Color Club Halo Hues: Eternal Beauty

Eternal Beauty is one of the latest colours from Color Club's Halo Hues collection! Eternal Beauty reminds me of China Glaze's sought after LOL. This is two coats here. The amount of holographic-ness in these babies are just amazing!

At the moment you can buy the first lot of Halo Hues from USA Nails Online (new zealand) for $19.90 each. The second lot, which Eternal Beauty is a part of, will be released on April 1st.

Color Club Halo Hues: Beyond

Beyond is one of the latest colours from Color Club's Halo Hues collection! Beyond looks fabulous in the sunlight! Soooo holoooo...

I am wearing two coats here. However when I wore it for two days it was mighty chippy along the tips! I don't know if it was the basecoat combo or the heavy load of housework, maybe a mixture of the two? I will experiment and let you know :)

At the moment you can buy the first lot from USA Nails Online (new zealand) for $19.90 each. The second lot, which Beyond is a part of, will be released on April 1st.

Glitter Gal Holographic in Nude NEW COLLECTION!

Glitter Gal is at it again! Releasing more holographic shades that we are bound to love. It's so hard to not be mesmerised (didn't Essie do a polish called that?) by a holo.

I went to a ball the other night, it was for the Queen's Jubilee and it was held by the New Zealand Army (I think). I kind of went on a blind date with one of the soldiers. AW MAN, what a nice guy. He was from Scotland. I will leave it at that or this post will turn into something else...

And of course your nails have to look nothing less than stunning at a ball! So I chose to wear Glitter Gal's Nude holographic polish. It was nice because my dress was azure blue silk and I didn't want anything to be too clash-y with it. My jewellery was silver, quite large too, with blue topaz coloured gemstones, so I didn't want my nails to compete with the dress or jewellery. I don't think I could have picked anything better than Glitter Gal Nude for the night.

There is something different about the smell and texture of Glitter Gal holographic polishes, I must say. I actually quite like it. The texture is very smooth and... it feels like half-melted honey to me or something. It's like when you're spreading a big chunk of Nutella onto your warm piece toast and it goes from being kind of hard to oh so soft and smooth. Glitter Gals also don't smell overly chemically. I like it.

Seriously, I just want to leave Nude sitting on my window sill so I can stare at it all day. Do you ever have those moments when you've picked a colour to paint your nails, you paint them, and you think to yourself "this is one of the best decisions I've made today"? I had one of those moments with Nude.

This is two coats of Nude. You can keep building and building up the intensity of holo with this one. It's also a good one for layering over other colours as it doesn't contain a base colour, just sparkles.

One, sweet, dainty coat of Nude.

Here's two coats of Nude.

OPI My Private Jet

Today I have the notorious My Private Jet to show you. This polish has changed many times, it wasn't so drastic at the beginning, but now the current Private Jet looks nothing like it's ancestor. I have a photo of the original at the bottom of this post. I never picked up the slightly less holo version, or the version with a teal shimmer. Kind of wish I had picked that teal one up though.

Ancestry aside, this Private Jet reminds me of black sand beaches and granite bench tops. Two things I really enjoy. Don't those little specks look like crushed shells?

One thing I noticed is the crushed shell bits are most holographic in artificial lighting. It was only at night that I started to see them sparkle and glow. I really like the crushed shell bits either way.

One thing I am missing though is that amazing golden and copper shimmer that you can see in the bottle! I've been wearing Private Jet these last couple of days and haven't seen it come out in any lighting conditions. If it weren't for that shimmer I probably wouldn't have picked it up.

The formula was really good, smooth, opaque and dried fairly quickly.

I still have the original bottle but I am too scared to wear it!

Side note: I have finally bought myself a new camera. It'll take awhile to learn the ropes! I used it for this post but I reckon it could do better :)

NFUOh 059

Today I've got NFUOh 059 to show you. 059 is similar to 051 and 052 in the way that it has more of a base colour to it. It isn't as sheer as the glass flecks. 059 has a berry/wine base colour and is loaded heaps of orange flakies that turn gold and green.

For 059 I chose to layer it over bare nail, Orly On The List, Glitter Gal Copper and a generic black creme.

We step it up to two coats here. In the sunlight you get to see more of the orange side of the flakies but it's more of the base polish that is showing through.

In the shade you get to see the flakies and the duochrome starts to come out to play...

Here you can see the gold/orange/green duochrome starting to show.

I think all of the base polishes look just as nice as each other with 059. The black gives you  the more orange/fiery side of things, Copper gives you a subtle holo, On The List was my favourite. It's a deep berry with pink glitter. 059 you can wear by itself but it will need at least 3 coats to get full coveage.

NFUOh 084

Today I've got NFUOh's 084 to show you. 084 is a mainly purple glass fleck shimmer but it also contains gold and blue. It does have a tint of purple in it's base but it's quite sheer. So it could alter your nail polish underneath if you layer it up a bit.

Here I've layered 084 over bare nail, Essie Sexy Divide, Color Club Wild at Heart and OPI Ink.

I wasn't able to see 084 in the sun as the polishes I used as a base are quite reflective themselves. But in the shade you can see what a pretty effect 084 has on the purples.

Like a lot of the other shimmers and flakies, 084 doesn't look all that great on it's own. You can also see the slight tinge of purple it gives.

With two coats of 084 you can see the sparkle of it more over the purples here. My camera wasn't actually able to capture how pretty it looked in the sun.

And again in the shade you can see how lovely 084 is over these purples. It reminds me of a not-completely-black OPI DS Mystery.

More NFUOh posts to come!

Glitter Gal Not Another Red

Today I have to show you is Glitter Gal's Not Another Red!

I love the name of this one. Because, do we really need another red? No, of course we don't, but we do however need this red.

Look at that. Isn't that a glorious site to be seen? The formula is just as lovely as Coppers'. Two smooth thin coats gives you all the coverage in the world.

Not another red reminds me OPI's Ruby and Reflection. Although a lot more blingy.

If any New Zealanders want to get their hands on a bottle or two of the Glitter Gal range, head over to polishqueennz on TradeMe! She is the distributor for New Zealand and super friendly and lovely!

If the price is stopping you buying one, check out my post where I compare a range of polishes and their cost per ml. Glitter Gal says that they use the most expensive holographic particles in their polishes. Seriously, these holos do not disappoint!

Watch the video to see how it sparkles!
