Australis Limited Edition 2

I'm not too sure what collection this was from or what was Limited Edition 1, but isn't this one of the best lime greens you have ever seen?

I wasn't too keen at first because I had found my number one lime already (OPI Who The Shrek Are You), and the shimmer in the bottle shows quite blue. Once on the nail, you can't see a hint of blue in the shimmer. It's quite nice actually but then again, why have blue shimmer if it's not going to show?

Just two coats here. This line of nail polish has really really nice coverage. Their polishes also seem to dry quite quickly too.

Love it.

Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau & Si Vous Please!

Here shown we've got Color Club's Take Me To Your Chateau and Si Vous Please. These are another two from the Pardon My French collection (which I saw in a chemist the other day! Just thinking now, with the amount of times I actually visit chemists, someone might think I have a problem lol!).

I really love this light blue. I wore it on my toes first, and it was just love at first sight. I took it down to my parents house and painted just about the whole family's toes with it! I met up with my mum and sister the other day and my sister still had it on :D

When it was about to come off, I couldn't bear to take it off, so I re-applied it! I just really enjoy wearing Take Me To Your Chateau.

Si Vous I haven't really worn as i'm not really in a glittery mood. You know, you just have to be in a certain mood to wear some polishes.

Si Vous Please is basically a clear glitter, nothing special but these two give me a nice wintery feeling. I think they go quite nicely together, Si Vous would go with just about anything though.

OPI It's A Girl! UPDATED

I wasn't 'wowed' by this collection when I first saw it in stores, but I recently came across some pictures of It's A Girl and just had to try it!

The Pink collection wasn't released that long ago in stores really, but it is so hard to find them nowadays! I came across only one other It's A Girl polish out of all the stores I searched and my Mum bought that one as she fell in love with it too. Mum actually bought I Think In Pink and Isn't That Precious as well so I will show you those at some stage too.

It's A Girl is my absolute favourite OPI polish at the moment, I can't get enough of it. It's just one of those shades you've been after for a very long time and finally found it, you know?

It's quite a versatile polish, you can wear just one coat for a nice clean healthy nail look, two coats for a little bit more pink and three if the baby pink is what you're after.

Completely streak free which I think is the main factor here. The formula is just beautiful. It's A Girl is just one of those polishes that reminds you why we love polishes so. Love it!

It's A Girl is a very jelly/glassy looking polish. Two coats are shown here.

OPI Go Goth Halloween Set 2010 UPDATED

UPDATED: Here are each of the colours on the nail. The formula on these are all very nice. Have to be careful when applying Obscurity though, it can get streaky.

Here is just a quick look at the Go Goth collection! This collection came out for Halloween 2010. I'm really excited to see what they have in store for us this year!

Retails for $39.90, a bit of a rip off but I really loved these colours.

Sanguine is a beautiful dark red, plus I love saying it. Sanguine.

Nevermore is a very pretty navy with pink and purple sparkles.

Unripened is really nice! I really hope OPI brings this sort of shade into a normal collection.

In order above in outdoor lighting natural vs. flash: Ink, Obscurity, Sanguine, Unripened and Nevermore.

Here is Ink and Nevermore side by side. Can you spot the difference?

Did you pick this set up? Did you like them?

2010's Greatest Hits

I hope you have all had a great Christmas! Here is Part One of what I think were some stand-out polishes of 2010.

MAC Blue India
This was released in the Liberty collection which had special packaging. It was quite expensive and I think is the last MAC I have purchased. A great smokey-blue. Only a two-coater.

OPI Jade Is The New Black
This came out quite early in the year with the Hong Kong collection. I still love it just as much as when I first bought it. It's a very nice muted forest green. Two-coater.

Chanel Nouvelle Vague
This polish had everyone wanting it before they even knew when it would be released. A very pretty light turquoise with a timid frost. It's like a frosty version of China Glaze For Audrey. Nouvelle Vague reminds me of Goody Goody Gumdrops ice cream (yum!).

OPI Catch Me In Your Net
I never thought NZ would get the Summer Flutter collection, so I just had to get this one when I saw it. It does have a few dupes by Zoya and Orly. A great shade for summer! I might be decking this one on my toes very shortly.

Orly Meet Me Under The Mistletoe
My photo isn't very good of Mistletoe, but I really do love the polish. I haven't seen anything like it. A beautiful forest green with green and gold glitter.

A Quick Look At: Orly Instant Artist

I hope you had an awesome Christmas! I hope you got some of the polishes on your wish list :)

I just wanted to show you something that I came across today and have never seen before, the Orly Instant Artist collection.

This seems to be a collection of special nail art colours. By that I mean they have super long and thin brushes designed for nail art. I chose the only colour that blew me away. Blue Sky. It's a pastel periwinkle shade. The rest were quite bold colours or basic glitters. (I took a photo of the stand, trying to upload it).

There was a set of Black, White, Red, Yellow and Blue for $49.90. Basically the same price for any 5 colours, but you get a dotting tool with that lot. The polishes retail for $10.90 each. Not too bad!

I only had a quick play with it (as I managed to spill some on my new pyjamas :( ) and I was really impressed! The coverage was great, not sheer at all. The brush was really easy to control.

I've also managed to pick up Sinful Daddy's Girl, OPI It's a Girl! and OPI Time-less is More. So stay tuned for those ones!
More pictures to come when the sun is out :)

Chanel Les Pops Collection

I am pretty sure almost everyone fell in love at first sight with the promo pictures of these beauties.

The Les Pops collection is now available in New Zealand and retail for $46 each. I got my lot a little early so I can't give you a release date sorry.

Riviera

Riviera
I wasn't really hyped about this one as I am sure I have something close to this shade. Mum fell in love with it though so luckily I was allowed to share it with you :) Two coats here, almost perfect coverage in first coat. Beautiful formula. Not as blue or deep as Splendeur incase you are wondering.

Mistral

Mistral
I only got Mistral and Nouvelle, but I wore this one straight away. It looks so cute in the bottle. But you do lose the glitter a little once you apply it to your nails. Mistral is a very soft, delicate, feminine shade. I like it. three coats here, it's a little more sheer than the other two.

Nouvelle Vague

Nouvelle Vague
My absolute favourite. It just looks so smooth and... frothy? lol I don't know, it reminds me of Goody Goody Gumdrop ice cream. Two coats here. The formula is honestly the best I have ever come across. Ever.

I absolutely love this collection, it's just so... cute and ice creamy. I am really glad I got them, these are limited so don't mess around if you want one or two! :)

Orly Sweet 2010: Lollipop

Hi again :)

Tonight I have Orly's Lollipop to show you.

I was so excited to see this in-store! I purchased the mini Sweet pack which contains a mini of Lollipop, Gumdrop and Lemonade as well as a Top 2 Bottom, which is like a base coat and top coat all in one.

The chemist must have also had the larger sized bottles at some point because there was a full size Pixy Stix (mum got that one :P). Also for my fellow kiwis, Life Pharmacy is having a sale on Orlys at the moment, 2 for 1. Great deal :D

Also a little more exciting news before the review, Essie has hit New Zealand! They are said to be in chemists and Farmers stores. I purchased mine from Life Pharmacy and got a free treatment like top coat or base coat with every 2 polishes bought. The latest collection we have is last years Winter collection with Mink Muffs, Angora Cardi, Chinchilly and the navy and neons.

Ok back to Lollipop!

The formula was a little streaky on the first coat, but evened out fine on the second. I felt it needed three coats to look finished though.

It dried fairly quickly and I have worn it for almost three days now and not a single chip or peel!

Stay tuned for the other Sweet Orlys as well as Essie's Chinchilly and Mink Muffs.

OPI Hong Kong Pinks Comparisons

Ok so I thought I would compare the pinks together as I thought they were closer but really... they aren't :)

Lined up we have: Don't Think Just Pink, Lucky Lucky Lavender, I'm Ok You're Bouquet and Panda-monium Pink.
Don't Think Just Pink compared to Lucky Lucky is much more red to me and a little more squishy looking.

Lucky Lucky compared to I'm Bouquet again is more lilac toned. I'm Bouquet is quite a yellow toned pink.

I'm Bouquet compared to Pandamonium Pink is again more yellow and I guess softer looking. Pandamonium Pink is more stark, more pastel like.

My favourite shade out of all of them: Lucky Lucky Lavender. I think I will change For Audrey and put it on! First time I have worn polish for a little while, it's almost exciting again :)

MAC Liberty Of London: Nail Polish Swatches

Blue India was very popular in the states and sold out so quickly. However, at the release party I went to, I think my mum and I were the only ones who paid attention to the polishes! So I don't think they will be quite as a big seller here.

BLUE INDIA

FORMULA
Was amazing! Best MAC formula ever! 98% coverage in the first coat. It was so smooth and creamy. I hope MAC produces more like this!

COLOUR
The colour of Blue India is sort of a dusty teal. But it doesn't have too much green in it, more of a blue teal. But definitely dusty.

It is quite a universal colour too, I tried it on and loved it, same happened with mum. My hands are more neutral coloured with yellow tones around my cuticles where as mum has more red undertones. So I think it will work with multiple skintones.

VESTRAL WHITE

FORMULA
The formula for this polish was really... different. I've never come across something like this before so I wasn't too sure on what to do for it.

It felt like I was applying a cream polish but then it left weird streaks as matte polishes do when you put them on too thin. I had to use 3 coats to get it all evened out.

I feel a white ridgefiller would help with this.

COLOUR
The colour of Vestral White is not quite a stark white. More of a creamy white. Like it has a little bit of softness to it as apposed to OPI Alpine Snow but not quite as soft as say Zoya Lucy or OPI Time-less is More.

MAC Liberty Of London - What I Picked Up!

These are the pretties I picked up from the release party. You may want to enlarge these photos to get the full detail.
Luckily a few lipsticks and glosses I was looking at, didn't suit me what so ever, so my bank account was happy. The items I loved and purchased were Petals & Peacocks lipstick, Blooming Lovely lipstick, Vestral White nail polish and of course.... Blue India nail polish.
The lipsticks were $42 each and the nail polishes were $30. $30 is crazy. Luckily MAC finally got a better formula going on. It will make me think twice about purchasing a MAC polish from now on.

MAC Lipsticks

These are my most recent MAC lipsticks to show you. I have shown you swatches of Pink Burst and Victorian. I also told you I will swatch Bubblegum, but it turned out I was allergic to it so swatches will come when the problem has cleared up :)

Lipsticks in order:
Pink Burst, Laugh-a-lot, Victorian, Bubblegum, Fresh Salmon & Saint Germain.

The first five lipsticks are from MAC's recent collection called Spring Forecast 2010. And I believe Saint Germain is in the main line of lipsticks.

I got Saint Germain for the catwalk show. I hope it goes on nicely :)

Swatches clockwise from bright bubblegum pink:
Saint Germain, Bubblegum, Laugh-a-lot, Pink Burst, Victorian and Fresh Salmon.
