Revlon Colorburst Holiday Set - Elusive, Sultry, Whimsical, Demure, and Provocateur

Today I have Revlon's Colorburst holiday set to share with you. Mr. Juice was very kind to me this Christmas! This holiday set contains four pinks and a red. The four pinks are all very different from each other, however.
These shades are all very easy to wear shades and would be suitable for any occasion. The formula on these things is AMAZING. I haven't had anything like them before. They're smooth like lip balm but have the colour pay-off of a lipstick. They also feel a bit minty on the lips, and have a pleasant smell.

Above is Revlon's Colorburst matte balm in Elusive, a pretty pink lipstick - close to being my absolute favourite of the bunch!

Above is Relvon's Colorburst matte balm in Sultry - this reminds me of my go to MAC lippy, Mehr. This one is deeper and darker than Elusive.

Above is my favourite of the set, Demure. Revlon' Colorburst lacquer balm Demure is a lovely light sheer glittery shade, that makes full use of my naturally light pink lips. I adore it. I can see that this will be the first one to go!

Revlon' Colorburst lacquer balm Whimsical is a gorgeous fuchsia lippy, it's just sheer enough to suit any skintone without being too overpowering.

Provocateur was the surprise! As the other shades are all somewhat sheer or matte, this one really makes the best of both worlds. A delightful bright red that just glides on!

Stay tuned for more lip swatches!

Catwalk: Alexander McQueen and Alice In Wonderland inspired.

My make-up class has to put on a catwalk show! How exciting is that! Although it has brought out some horrible sides of peoples personalities...

Our class was pretty much split 50/50 on doing the McQueen Wonderland theme or a Micheal Jackson theme. I sided with Wonderland because there is so much more creativity and designing to go into that. Plus Alexander McQueens death was more recent. So our class split in two and went with their theme of choice.

For our Wonderland theme we are doing a classic Wonderland look for each character and then an Alexander McQueen look for the character. My characters are, a classic White Queen and a McQueen White Rabbit.

So after all of this I wanted to show you guys my designs for my model, the White Rabbit.

HAIR:
I am hoping to make the 'rabbit ears' out of her hair. As in sort of like... long stretched out buns? If you understand that lol. Or maybe I will get some synthetic hair and create them, then just apply them on top of her hair.

MAKE-UP:
I attached a face chart to this post but it isn't the end result. In class today I added sort angry looking brows, winged liner and MAC Saint Germain to the lips.

She will also have veeerrrryyy long eyelashes on the top lashline and normal sized lashes on the lower lash line.

OUTFIT:
The outfit will be made from a lower half of a leotard and the top is a bustier I already own but never wear. I will be creating the bows from quite stiff material so it holds its shape.

I also purchased gold chains yesterday to hang off the shoulder from a shoulder pad.

Also I will be getting a longer chain attatched to her hip that has a clock on it so she can carry that around :)

My friend and someone from my class will be taking a lot of photos so I will surely post those after the show (31st March).

I am really excited for this and can't wait to start getting into making the outfit itself :D What do you guys think of the outfit? Any ideas on how to improve or which fabrics to look out for?

On a side note... I will be turning 19 next week ♥

MAC DazzleGlass Creme : Do it Up

MAC's Do It Up reminds me of Essie's Cute As A Button but on your lips!

A very cute colour with amazing sparkles.

Again like the others, staying power is great until you eat.

Did you cave for any of the DazzleGlass cremes?

MAC DazzleGlass Creme : Totally Fab

MAC's Totally Fab was a red I actually liked on my lips.

It applies really nicely, I thought the brush was a little tricky at first but i've never used one of these before.

It stays on perfectly all day until you eat or drink. They aren't sticky either which is quite nice but hairs still manage to get stuck in it.

MAC DazzleGlass Creme : Perfectly Unordinary

I thought I would start these off with the one I chose, Perfectly Unordinary.

Perfectly Unordinary is a cute peach gloss with golden glitter.

The DazzleGlass Cremes are quite opaque, they don't leave you with a hint of colour and a whole heap of disappointing sparkles.

I went to go and pick up the other pink one today, but that had sold out :( Why doesn't MAC get much stock here? That's ok though, this one is amazing :)

This is my first time trying MAC's DazzleGlasses. I am really impressed, it stayed on until it was time to eat. Usually some dry out your lips or your hair gets so stuck in it you usually get most of it in your hair and not on the lips! Not Perfectly Unordinary though. She was good to me, moisterised, glossed and made my lips look really nice.

I'd give it a 4/5, the only negative being the price tag. $48 if I remember correctly. But then again I've had Posh it Up for over a year now and its almost at the half way point and i've worn that truckloads and it is in a much smaller tube compared to Perfectly Unordinary.

Becoming a Make-up Artist : Lots of Inspiration!

Today we learnt about all the different skin colours and races and which colours and tones best suit them.

For example, every skin colour under the sun could wear pink eyeshadow but for fair skin it may be a light pastel pink and for darker skin it may be a darker crimson pink.

So far we have learnt nude make-up in dewy and matte finishes, day make-up, ethnic make-up and eyelash and brow tinting/shaping.

This week we are learning male, rockstar and evening make-up. We are also doing something with a hairdryer near the end of the week. I must say hair styling isn't my strongest field lol. I sort of drift off and get extremely bored with it.

I am going home this weekend so that means more photo posts! I think I will have one on the eyebrow/lash tinting and shaping and a whole heap of others on new MAC stuff.

MAC Blot Powder + Greasepaint Stick

This pressed blot powder is amazing. AMAZING.
I have super oily skin thanks to my dads side of the family (at least I won't get wrinkly as quick!), so keeping my make-up stay put and matte is a real mission.

Lemme Show You My Lippies...

I finally have a use for this plastic thing! I can also still fit 5 more lippies in there... ;)

Well this is the lot at the moment. Snob, Pink Nouveau, Strayin', Girl About Town, Sweet Thing, Big Bow and Made With Love.

Snob
: Snob is a really nice light pink, my kind of 'nude'. It goes on either lightly or opaque. Can be drying if you don't have lip balm or prep underneath.

Pink Nouveau: My absolute favourite at the moment. Goes on quite opaque and bright. I think Pink Nouveau is like what barbie has on her lips. I got this one because my friend had always worn it and I couldn't find it because the MAC ladies told me it was DC'ed. Thankfully one still had one.

Strayin': Love at first sight. Rivaling Pink Nouveau although I haven't worn Strayin' out yet. It is much creamier and a little more shiny/sparkley and more yellow toned compared to PN.

Girl About Town: My first lippie. I haven't worn it as much because its a little hard for me to put on and because it is such a bold colour, you can see where you go wrong. As shown here lol. My tutor kept telling me to put a gloss on it and a classmate said "Steph, jsut a headsup, I think your lips could look really glamourous with some gloss on top". Um, k. So I went to MAC and the guy put one on top. It didn't look at all different to me, only close-up. Whatever - I wear it by itself :)

Sweet Thing: I didn't think i;d like this one as it isn't quite as standy-outy as the others I own. But! I tried it on in the sunlight and it was really pretty. Sweet Thing just added a tiny bit of darker pink to my natural lip colour as well as some sparklies. I like.

Made With Love: Is a pretty orange/coral. It goes on quite sheer but builds up quickly. I think I will choose this one on one of my 'not feeling so bold' days. Made With Love also looks similar to Big Bow, but once the sunlight hits Big Bow, WOAH!

Big Bow: Looks quite subtle until light hits it. I like how Big Bow gives me a peachy/coraly lip with a whole heapa sparklies. I also loved that it had Bow in the name and has a Hello Kitty Face in the lipstick. So cute!

MAC Snob

Welcome to my first make-up related post! :D I am so excited.

Here we have MAC's Snob. A not so nice name for a very nice shade of pink. Snob is a part of their main line.

I bought Snob on a whim just because it looked so sumptuous in the tube. I am a sucker for baby pinks and now that I am just getting into make-up is even worse >_< (for my wallet, I mean).

Snob is quite a versatile colour. You can wear it lightly, as I am in the photo or you can build it up easily just by pushing a little harder.

I used a basic lip balm underneath to help it flow on a little smoother. I am seriously considering the MAC lip treatment or the Lip Prep + Prime.

I was really thinking about getting rid of Snob but after trying it on today, it's a keeper! n_n

* I am NW15 in MAC for reference
