OPI Venice Fall Winter 2015 - A Great Opera-tunity

A Great Opera-tunity is from OPI's Venice collection for Fall/Winter 2015. This is the perfect salmon shade every collection needs! It goes on so incredibly smooth and only needs two thin coats for full coverage. What I like most about Opera-tunity is that it's an all year-round shade. I also like that it just has that little bit of punch to it that stops it from being a 'my nails but better' shade.

China Glaze Shell-o

Today I have China Glaze's Shell-o to show you! This is very similar to Heat Index, which is a blue toned pink, in regards to formula and finish. They are both very thin jellies. Although the formula is quite thin and watery, it's still quite usable. I really like the look of these jelly neons! I think I need more...

China Glaze Life's A Beach

And here is China Glaze's Life's A Beach! I love the name on this one. This is a really nice and opaque formula for a neon. Very smooth and very shiny! It dries matte as you can see in the pictures. As this one was tricky for the camera to capture, the shade photo shows the colour more correctly.

Fashion Nails: Summer Dress!

Isn't this dress just the cutest little thing? White, navy, coral and peach. What a great range of colours to find a matching nail polish! I am planning to wear it with a navy cardigan for a presentation.

My first choice was navy or white as I'm not really a red wearer. I did think about peach but I don't know if it's strong enough through-out the pattern to look like it intentionally matches the dress.

My sister is a coral lover just like my mum! So from their stashes I found OPI Lunch At The Delhi, OPI Cajun Shrimp and OPI Big Hair Big Nails (still don't get that name).

Lunch At The Delhi matched the coral colour almost 100% perfect but I was really liking the juicy looking texture of Big Hair. But Big Hair being a jelly means it's going to take a few coats to build up. I'm not after sheer today. So this is how we came to this manicure, one coat of Cajun Shrimp followed by one coat of Big Hair Big Nails.

I quite like how they look together, they compliment each other well. The sad thing is, I'm planning to wear this dress in two days time. Most likely this manicure will chip or lose it's pizzazz by then. Then I think I'll go with the white or navy. Maybe I'll even try to replicate the pattern! Whatever happens, I'll be sure to post!

Another Fashion Nails post coming up shortly!

China Glaze Life Preserver

Today I've got China Glaze's Life Preserver to show you! LP is from the Anchors Away collection released earlier this year.

This photographed really bright for some reason. I tried to bring it down to how muted it really is. It's a great shade for Summer and Spring.

I had no complaints with the formula, really nice typical China Glaze. Two coats shown here.

I also have Ahoy to show you but I haven't tried it yet! It looks so pretty in the bottle though. I'll make it my next manicure!

I'm on holidays soon, so I'll have heaps to show you shortly!

OPI Texas: Big Hair...Big Nails & Guy Meets Gal-Veston

My goodness it's March already! That means I am almost 20! I remember when I mentioned that I turned 18 on NJ.... It's kind of hard to comprehend that NJ has been around that long! :O....

The corals in this collection are amazing! Mum had bought both of the corals; Big Hair...Big Nails and Guy Meets Gal-Veston. She only ended up keeping Gal-veston though as Big Hair has more of an orange tone, and that didn't suit her as nicely as the redder more watermelony tones in Gal-veston.

My sister ended up getting Big Hair

Big Hair... Big Nails:
My sister ended up getting this one from my mum as it is the orange-r one out of the two. It looks really nice on her too, like watermelon crossed with strawberry juice. It's sort of a jelly version of Cajun Shrimp, it has that nice punch to it.

So as with all the jellies in the Texas collection, two coats are sufficient and you will still see your nail lines. On a side note, how do you get/have "big nails"? The mind boggles.

Guy Meets Gal-Veston:
This is the redder one of the two corals, even though it is really easy to get these two mixed up. They are pretty close. I don't know why OPI released two coral jellies and two pink jellies. Only minor differences.

Not really much to say about Gal-Veston other than it's just as beautiful as all the other jellies in the collection. I am still really happy with the Texas lot. They have the best formula I have come across yet.

The two compared side by side:
Here you can see how Big Hair is more orange and Gal-Veston more red.

The Stash - Corals

And now we have some lovely summer corals!

I can't decide what to keep and what to get rid of...I think I would choose Elke or Cajun... but they're both so pretty and bright!

OPI Sacramento Pimento .•:*¨¨*:•.

Love at first sight and an instant favourite.

I really wish this wasn't discontinued, otherwise I would have 2 or 3 back-ups!

Sacramento Pimento is just lovely to look at. The golden shimmer is so fine it looks like its glowing all the time.

I have a special love for Peaches, Apricots and Corals too... So I couldn't leave it at the store.

Sacramento Pimento is from that California collection which was only released in Australia about 8 or 9 years ago.

The formula is one of the best I have come across. Smooth, thin quick drying. All you need is two coats.

The store also had Yosemite and Californian Navel which I believe are from the same collection :)

OPI Lunch At The Delhi

(An oldie post)
Ahhhh Delhi... We have a love-hate relationship.

The only reason I keep it is becasue of the ties I have with Delhi, it was one of my first OPI's... but it really does nothing for me.

Lunch At The Delhi is a semi-muted coral creme. It was released in the India collection at the start of 2008.

Three coats were used here. It applied well, not the best I've ever seen but certainly a lot better than some...
