2010's Greatest Hits

I hope you have all had a great Christmas! Here is Part One of what I think were some stand-out polishes of 2010.

MAC Blue India
This was released in the Liberty collection which had special packaging. It was quite expensive and I think is the last MAC I have purchased. A great smokey-blue. Only a two-coater.

OPI Jade Is The New Black
This came out quite early in the year with the Hong Kong collection. I still love it just as much as when I first bought it. It's a very nice muted forest green. Two-coater.

Chanel Nouvelle Vague
This polish had everyone wanting it before they even knew when it would be released. A very pretty light turquoise with a timid frost. It's like a frosty version of China Glaze For Audrey. Nouvelle Vague reminds me of Goody Goody Gumdrops ice cream (yum!).

OPI Catch Me In Your Net
I never thought NZ would get the Summer Flutter collection, so I just had to get this one when I saw it. It does have a few dupes by Zoya and Orly. A great shade for summer! I might be decking this one on my toes very shortly.

Orly Meet Me Under The Mistletoe
My photo isn't very good of Mistletoe, but I really do love the polish. I haven't seen anything like it. A beautiful forest green with green and gold glitter.

A Quick Look At: Orly Instant Artist

I hope you had an awesome Christmas! I hope you got some of the polishes on your wish list :)

I just wanted to show you something that I came across today and have never seen before, the Orly Instant Artist collection.

This seems to be a collection of special nail art colours. By that I mean they have super long and thin brushes designed for nail art. I chose the only colour that blew me away. Blue Sky. It's a pastel periwinkle shade. The rest were quite bold colours or basic glitters. (I took a photo of the stand, trying to upload it).

There was a set of Black, White, Red, Yellow and Blue for $49.90. Basically the same price for any 5 colours, but you get a dotting tool with that lot. The polishes retail for $10.90 each. Not too bad!

I only had a quick play with it (as I managed to spill some on my new pyjamas :( ) and I was really impressed! The coverage was great, not sheer at all. The brush was really easy to control.

I've also managed to pick up Sinful Daddy's Girl, OPI It's a Girl! and OPI Time-less is More. So stay tuned for those ones!
More pictures to come when the sun is out :)

Notice

Hi again guys,

So there seems to be a new blog with the name Nail Juice as well and it looks like they have paid for the '.com' instead of the host site they use.

Please do not mistake this blog for the real Nail Juice. I used to have the '.com' but my year ran out and I had no funds to re buy it and so I guess this other person took it. So now the address for this blog is www.nailjuice.blogspot.com

I just want to make sure that you guys know that I haven't completely changed my blog :)

I thought Nail Juice was quite an unusual name, so I am a little puzzled over this... It's a bit scary seeing a blog with the exact same name.

Open to New Zealand only. Send an email with the subject as "Win Under The Mistletoe" to nailjuice@live.com to enter the draw!

Good luck! :D

A Quick Look At: Oh Naturale & Turn The Other Chic

Hi guys! I finally bought myself a rechargeable battery charger, so now I don't have to wait to travel back to my parents house for batteries :D

For now I am showing you photos of Color Club's Oh Naturale and Turn The Other Chic. These will be released in NZ fairly soon I would think. They are a part of the Pardon My French collection. A beautiful array of soft sheers and matching glitters.

The reason they aren't on my fingers is because I recently worked in a pack house for 5 days (50 hours all up) and as you can imagine, the poor little fingernails got a bit of a beating. Hopefully they come right soon :)

Here is Oh Naturale:
A very soft salmon.

And here is Turn The Other Chic:
A juicy looking colour! Looks best over others rather than being by itself.

Mode VIP

I think these Mode polishes, have to be the best for value. Only $3.95 for a polish.

I first came across these in Australia a couple of years ago, wasn't too fussed on the colour range available. But it seems they are coming out with some great shades!

I only limited myself to 3 polishes. I picked up this pretty grey, a dark purple jelly with glitter and a muted teal. I am really pleased with them all! I would show you photos but my camera just died uploading this one.

Back to VIP, amazing coverage! If you were extremely precise at applying polish, you could have this done in one coat. It isn't streaky, sheer or thick. The teal was like this too. The purple one was quite watery, but I think that's needed for jelly polishes.

I don't think it is as yellow as it is showing in my photo. It's a very neutral grey.

On a side note: I have changed the comment section as I was having problems before. Hopefully it's fixed now! :)

Orly On The List

Just to be sure, On The List is not a part of Orly's holiday collection. It was thrown in with the minis though, and I think it seems quite fitting. Everyone has a list for the holidays :)

I used three coats of On The List as it was a little bit sheer and watery. It is quite a pretty polish though once on. I am a little sad though that the pink glitter didn't show through as much as it does in the bottle.

It has quite a jelly look to it once applied. I think it is good that On The List is a bit sheer, because then you get to see more glitter particles in all the different layers. And of course you get that lovely squidgy jelly look.

It's kind of like a darker, deeper version of China Glaze Ruby Pumps.

OPI Catch Me In Your Net

Mum and I were flabbergasted when we saw the summer OPI display with this colour on it. I really wasn't expecting to get it in New Zealand. A very nice surprise!

Catch Me In Your Net is a beautiful shade. I am so happy to have this in my collection. I have nothing like it! Although a few companys have released something very similar, this is the first to hit NZ.
I thought it was going to be a sheer shade but you really only need two, maximum 3 coats for this one.

I really like Catch Me In Your Net because it's just one of those fascinating polishes that change all day long, you know? It has a really different look in every light. It's so pretty.

I just love to look at this one in the bottle too. I wish I had some shoes this colour... how cool would that be
?!

None of the other colours really caught my attention in the Summer collection. It seems a lot of sparkly polishes are coming out recently, I like it!
