NFUOh 050

This is one of NFUOhs plain flakie polishes. If you love shimmer, duochrome or glitter, you have to try these polishes out! The purple base colour doesn't really show, I have tried it over a baby blue and it made no difference to the blue whatsoever. Maybe if you did like, 10 coats, then it might start to do something.

I really wanted to try it over black. When I had finished the first coat of 50, I almost didn't want to add another. Doesn't it look stunning? It looks like fish scales or what I imagine a mermaids tail to be made of.

I think what's so great about these polishes is that because there are different sized flakies in the polish, it really sort of looks like the flakes are floating and that they have a depth to them, rather than looking flat on the nail.

What else is awesome is, like I said in an earlier post, these flakies look amazing in any light. They change with the time of day, the weather, the situation, they're just AWESOME.

I managed to stop staring at my nails long enough to apply a second coat. It's just as lovely. Imagine if you did 5 coats or 10 coats?! Mermaid tail?!

In the bright sunlight 50 shows you more of her bright green and aqua side. In the shade you get to see more of the blue duochrome on the sides and overall depending on what angle your nails are on.

I noticed at night time in my apartment, under artificial lighting, that you get to see the bright blue a lot more than you do in natural light. Also if the artificial lighting isn't direct on your nails, you even get to see ultra-violet/cobalt blue shine. This nail polish is so flippin' cool!

NFUOh 50 over black, matte
I tried Matte About You over the top just to see what it'd look like. It's nice but you lose that floating/depth feeling, it looks more flat.

I wish I had picked up a few more bottles of this. I'm not sure if they were on clearance or not, but it was cheap as chips!

More NFUOh reviews coming shortly!

China Glaze Electric Pineapple

I've been lusting after this one since I first set my eyes on it! I was so happy to see that they had one out at the Beauty Expo!

It almost looked a bit neon from other photos I had seen of it, but it definitely isn't! Electric Pineapple is a creamy chartreuse. It does look yellow but certainly has that little bit of lime in it to keep it being a warmer toned creamy yellow.

I think this is as yellow as I go, yellows for some reason make my fingers look tan. As far as formula goes, Electric Pineapple is beautifully creamy and gives great coverage. It doesn't have the usual yellow polish issues.

I 've put OPI's Who The Shrek Are You on my ring finger so you can see the difference. I really love both of these colours, I wish more companies would make mustard yellow and chartruese polishes. I can't get enough of them at the moment.

Color Club Get Your Lem-on

Today we have one of Color Club's polishes from their Wicked Sweet collection, Get Your Lem-on. This collection is scented, quite nicely too.

I'm not one for yellows or neons so I'm going to be as rational as possible in this review. The scent in Get Your Lem-on is really nice. I think it smells like lemonade (my fave fizzy drink). It's a very sweet and delicate lemonade though. I didn't think the scent was as strong as Gimme a Grape Big Kiss or Wicked Sweet. It was much lighter.

Get Your Lem-on's formula was alright. I did find it to be a little on the sheer side. You can still see my tips vaguely and this is three coats. It did however have the typical Color Club formula, very smooth and manageable.

Lem-on also has a faint shimmer, I can't tell if it's blue or green but it doesn't come out too strongly against the neon yellow base. I was thinking that this polish might actually look really good layered over another neon, I will have to try it!

So after all of that, Get Your Lem-on is a good polish, just not for me :)

Swatch of NFUOh 50, 51, 52, 55

From left to right: 55, 52, 50, 51

Here I've done just some quick swatches of the NFUOhs I picked up over OPI Sapphire in the Snow. I picked Sapphire because 51 and 52 have quite a purple base, almost ultra violet like. Of course you can layer them over whatever you want, black, navy, purple, green... I wonder what white would look like?

From left to right: 55, 52, 50, 51
NFUOh 55 looks a little bit christmas-y over the indigo, I think it'd look better over a green or black. Maybe a red if you really want that christmas-y look. It is a clear base with green glitter and orange toned flakies.

NFUOh 52 has a more blue base than 51 and also has the green and blue shimmer with flakies. Great coverage!

NFUOh 50 is pure blue and green flakies in a sheer violet base. I don't really get the point of the violet base as it barely shows. I've tried it over a baby blue and it didn't change the colour at all.

NFUOh 51 is the more red toned one out of this lot. It has a very ultra violet base, red and orange flakies complete with shimmer that shines copper, red and green.

From left to right: 51, 50, 52
You know what's great about these polishes? You can be in any sort of lighting situation and they look amazing. They also look really great when there is or isn't direct light on them. When there is you get a vibrant colour shining on your nails and when you don't you get to see more of the duochrome.

I will do full reviews on each polish shortly, they'll also be shown mattified!

NFUOh 019 & NFUOh GS05

It looks quite similar to a lot of the glitter polishes coming out at the moment. It has three different sized glitters  and all of them are holographic. NFUOh has plain silver and a gold like this too, I think.

This is one thin coat over NFUOh 019. I love how dainty it looks.

And of course you can layer to your hearts desire with GS05.

For now, my lust for Naked and Glitter in the Air has subsided..... that sounds so disturbing if you don't know that those are nail polishes...

Nail Trivia Update

I've currently set it up into 3 categories; "100% right", "Some right, some wrong" and "lots wrong". That's just for now, it may change. It's so exciting to see what everybody's answers are!

I've just gone through 50+ entries and so many of you are getting just one answer wrong! And to those people who are listing Nail Juice as being from Australia, shame on you. You should be sent straight to the "lots wrong" folder. :P

Anyway just letting you know that I've picked up a few more prizes today and will be showing them to you later tonight!

Good luck if you haven't already tried the new Nail Trivia!
