Catwalk: Alexander McQueen and Alice In Wonderland inspired.

My make-up class has to put on a catwalk show! How exciting is that! Although it has brought out some horrible sides of peoples personalities...

Our class was pretty much split 50/50 on doing the McQueen Wonderland theme or a Micheal Jackson theme. I sided with Wonderland because there is so much more creativity and designing to go into that. Plus Alexander McQueens death was more recent. So our class split in two and went with their theme of choice.

For our Wonderland theme we are doing a classic Wonderland look for each character and then an Alexander McQueen look for the character. My characters are, a classic White Queen and a McQueen White Rabbit.

So after all of this I wanted to show you guys my designs for my model, the White Rabbit.

HAIR:
I am hoping to make the 'rabbit ears' out of her hair. As in sort of like... long stretched out buns? If you understand that lol. Or maybe I will get some synthetic hair and create them, then just apply them on top of her hair.

MAKE-UP:
I attached a face chart to this post but it isn't the end result. In class today I added sort angry looking brows, winged liner and MAC Saint Germain to the lips.

She will also have veeerrrryyy long eyelashes on the top lashline and normal sized lashes on the lower lash line.

OUTFIT:
The outfit will be made from a lower half of a leotard and the top is a bustier I already own but never wear. I will be creating the bows from quite stiff material so it holds its shape.

I also purchased gold chains yesterday to hang off the shoulder from a shoulder pad.

Also I will be getting a longer chain attatched to her hip that has a clock on it so she can carry that around :)

My friend and someone from my class will be taking a lot of photos so I will surely post those after the show (31st March).

I am really excited for this and can't wait to start getting into making the outfit itself :D What do you guys think of the outfit? Any ideas on how to improve or which fabrics to look out for?

On a side note... I will be turning 19 next week ♥

OPI Panda-monium Pink

Here is the last purchase from the OPI Hong Kong collection! I keep looking at the display but no other colours are calling out to me.

I just love creamy pinks like Panda-monium Pink. Just love them. I don't know what it is about it, I have a duvet that has flowers this colour and has been my favourite duvet ever since I was a little girl. I remember I always wore a dress that was this colour too... I was so jealous when I grew too big and my little sister started wearing it.

Oh! Also I may use this on my model when my class has to do a catwalk show. It is Alexander McQueen / Alice In Wonderland inspired. I am doing a classic White Queen and a McQueen inspired Rabbit. I also purchased MAC Saint Germain for her lips. Cute!

Back to Panda, the formula was really good. Consistent with the rest of the Hong Kongs I got.

Panda-monium Pink also looks great with China Glaze Glam.

Love love love!

OPI Mystery & China Glaze Solar Flare Matte

I was dying to wear Solar Flare and was looking through my stash for something that had gold shimmer but also a dark base. OPI Mystery fitted the bill perfectly.

I was so happy with this mani. I don't know what it is about it that makes it so. A lady in my class who is about 40 or so, said to me "Steph, Your nails are mean!". I thought it was quite nice that she liked it :D

I have to admit though I was wearing this manicure shiny for a lot of the day until I came home and thought hmm... I wonder what it'd look like matte? This is the result. Cool.

MAC Spring Forecast 2010

Mum and I were super excited to read about this collection! We kept updating lists of what we wanted to get from it for goodness knows how long!
So far I have gotten: one of the Ombre blushes- Azalea Blossom, a few lippies called Pink Burst, Victorian and Bubblegum. I have worn the blush just about everyday since receiving it. I really love the colour, a soft pastel pink with lilac undertones.

- Victorian was quite... un-wearable for some reason. A very bright coral/pink a with golden sheen. It just doesn't seem to sit nicely or apply nicely on my lips.

- Pink Burst is quite a bold fuchsia, very shimmery as well. I am not too sure how often I will wear that one.

- Bubblegum is my absolute favourite. I have never come across a lipstick quite like it! It is a lilac toned pink. It is also quite shimmery. I keep wearing this every time I put my make-up on :) I also like how it leaves a pink stain on my lips after I have eaten.
(Pics to come soon!)

This collection will be released in New Zealand in a couple of weeks.

OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender

Lucky Lucky Lavender is a beautiful pink with those cool lilac undertones. So loving this kind of colour at the moment.

I really wasn't blown away at it in the stand, but got it anyway. Wasn't amazed by it when I first tried it on either, but after wearing it for a full mani, I loved it. Still do. May wear this again tonight :)

I used just two coats here. The formula once again is impeccable. Not a single thing wrong with it!

This colour reminds me very much of CND Grapeade I had a little while ago, but I gave over 30 polishes to my classmates and tutor. My tutor got Grapeade and has worn it for two weeks straight on her tips and toes! :D I am so glad it was able to get that kind of love from someone else instead of sitting in my lounge.

Lucky Lucky Lavender also reminded me of OPI's Don't Think, Just Pink. But comparing them, Just Pink is a lot more red-er than Lucky.

What do you think?

MAC Blissed Out (better photos)

I'm really loving peaches at the moment so I though I'd pop on a favourite, Blissed Out.

I also though I would take some nicer photos of it hehe. I know it can be boring for some people but it keeps me happy throughout the day :)

This was three coats here as it was a little sheer, but a ridge filler underneath that is white works awesomely to combat that problem.

OPI Meet Me On The Star Ferry

Star Ferry was the Hong Kong OPI that I got that I liked the least. I just didn't really like the tone of colour and finish.

I don't think I like foils all that much as I seem to give most of those away.
This is just two coats here.

Formula was nice 'n easy. Nothing I would like to change about it. I am still really surprised at how consistent OPI was formula wise with this collection.

I'm not too sure what else to say about Star Ferry really, I gave this one to my mum and she loves it. It looks amazing against her slightly darker/more pink toned skin.
